Technical and Economic Design Criteria
The design criteria for sensitive air conditioning and IT cooling systems are determined by indoor processes. Outdoor units (chillers, dry coolers and condensers) make up approximately 33% of the energy spent in system halls and information technologies (IT). Therefore, to design system halls that consume less energy, reducing the energy consumed by the outdoor unit as much as possible should be the first of the main objectives. The most basic design criteria:
Functionality: A functional system setup in all conditions.
Energy Efficiency: Application of the most energy efficient system solution according to the climate profile of the region where the data center is located.
Installation cost and Operating cost: Considering the operating and maintenance costs that occur within the initial investment cost and economic life of the system. The data centers designed specifically for 100% capacity occupancy need do not require full load in the first place (low start build up), especially considering the initial operating costs.
Flexibility: The system can be compatible according to changing settlement conditions.
Ease of service and maintenance: One of the main functions of a sustainable air conditioning system is the service and maintenance methods and ease of operation for uninterrupted operation.
